The 19th running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 23rd July 1913 over 1 mile of The Curragh, starting at the Madrid Post. A pot of 300 sovereigns was availble, 20 sovereigns to the second and 10 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Mr P Murphy, trained by J J Parkinson at Maddenstown Lodge, Curragh, and ridden by T Bennett. The winner won by 4 lengths in 1 minute 43 seconds, with 2 1/2 lengths between second and third.

RACE REPORT

Athgreany made the early running ahead of Campanile, Fianne Gael and Hors De Combat, an order which remained constant until half way. At this point Fianne Gael took command, but was always being stalked by Athgreany who resumed control at the distance, running on strongly to score by a comfortable 4 lengths, with a head separating Fainne Gael and Hors De Combat.
